Slick Highway Blamed in Interstate 80 Crash
State police say a slippery road caused a two vehicle crash on Interstate 80 at 2:50 a.m. A 1962 Studebaker driven by Leah Stevens 20 of Bradley spun into the passing lane and was rear ended by a semi from Gateway Transportation of LaCrosse Wisconsin driven by Russell Landers 44 of Des Moines Iowa. Stevens and a passenger suffered minor injuries, no hospital treatment. The Studebaker received about 750 in damages and was towed. the semi had minor damages and towing arrangements were being made. No tickets were issued.

Freezing drizzle causes minor crashes in northern Illinois
A freezing drizzle coated roads in sections of northern Illinois producing numerous minor traffic accidents. Tonight and Friday bring colder, partly cloudy to partly sunny conditions with lows in the 20s and highs in the 30s. At Collins Weather Station, Wednesday reached 30 with a 19 low, while Morris downtown reported 33 at 9 am and 35 at 11 am.

Harvey Police Strike Ends as 21 Return to Work
In Harvey Illinois the police department expects a full 42 men on all shifts today after 21 officers ended a sick in that began November 28. They sought recognition of the Cook County Police Association as bargaining agent and higher pay. Chief Knapp had cited 21 for abandoning their jobs and started civil service exams to replace them. Arrest Judge At Stag Party In New Orleans
New Orleans police raided a midcity motel stag party arresting 14 people including Judge Edward A.
