Wind toppled trailer and toppers in city winds
Heavy winds Wednesday caused light damage in the city. Mrs. Bonnie Harrell reported her trailer at Hildy's Trailer Court toppled at 10:55 a.m. A state truck topper blew against the Illinois River bridge on Illinois 47 and was removed by Com monwealth Edison. A caller said two high line wires behind Richardson Printing sparked and broke, repaired by Edison crews.

Gas chamber for Frazier in Santa Cruz killings
John Linley Frazier was sentenced to death by gas chamber by an eight woman four man jury for the Oct. 19 1970 slayings at the Santa Cruz hills mansion of Dr. Victor Ohta his wife Virginia their two sons and Ohtas secretary. Judge Charles S Franich set a Dec. 30 date for formal sentencing. Frazier pleaded innocent and not responsible by reason of insanity.
