Pair Taken to Joliet Prison After Minooka Shooting
Edward J. Lavan and Daniel Tope, both of Aurora and aged 17 and 18, were sent to Illinois State Penitentiary Joliet at 1:25 p.m. Tuesday by Sheriff Olson and Deputy Hendrickson after pleading guilty to armed robbery intent and aggravated battery. They were captured hours after the October 11 shooting at Minooka and receive credit for time served in county jail. AWOL marines received two to 12 year sentences.

Coal City youth placed on probation for theft
Edgar Fisk a 19 year old from Coal City was placed on a year of probation and ordered to pay restitution after pleading guilty to stealing cigarettes from Eisner Food Store on November 25. About 30 cartons were found in his room by Coal City Police Chief Gerald Bitner. The hearing was before Associate Circuit Judge Robert Malmquist with Atty John Black present for Fisk.
