Court Rules TV Franchising Is Not Illegal
A Decatur Circuit Court judge ruled the city ordinance regulating CATV franchising is valid and dismissed Illinois Broadcasting Co. suit as it did not allege violations. The 1965 ordinances prohibit CATV operations without city licenses, with GE Cable Vision Corp. holding one license.
