Gas beneath Devonian shale could fuel vast western energy
NEW YORK UPI A near inexhaustible gas supply lies under several states from West Virginia to eastern Texas in the Devonian shale belt. Government and industry estimates hint at up to 300 trillion cubic feet of gas, with 15 to 25 trillion expected in the first 15 20 years of heavy extraction. Rockcor Inc uses a method called Astrofac to inject liquid rocket fuel explosives into shale to free gas, achieving flows several times larger than conventional methods.
