Two hundred immature pintail ducks are being raised in Knox County to test if they will migrate south and return to establish a breeding colony in Illinois. The birds were donated by the Max MacGraw Wildlife Foundation and are kept in an open-topped holding pen on Peabody Coal Co. lands.
