Plane crash near Seneca claims two lives
State Police and Grundy County officials identified Robert Perdelwitz 42 and Donna Perdelwitz 21 of Princeville as the victims of a Cessna 170 crash 2.5 miles east of Seneca in Grundy County. The craft, rented from Mount Hawley Aviation, disappeared from radar after takeoff from Mt Hawley and was found in a grassy field near a dense fringe of trees.

Outlaws member arrested in Joliet armed robbery case
Harold J. Rassmussen 29 and Raymond Ferro 23 of the Outlaws were named in a warrant for armed robbery and aggravated battery. Rassmussen appeared before Circuit Judge Robert Malmquist in Joliet after a 12:55 pm arrest. Bail set at 100000 with case bound over to the grand jury. Ferro's actions linked to Braceville incident. he was free on an appeal bond and has prior felonies.

Howard Thorsen of Pioneer Road reported to the Grundy County Sheriff's Department at 6 25 a m that a pack of dogs attacked his sheep on Tuesday and Wednesday nights killing eight sheep. Deputy Leach said ten sheep were killed and four or five more likely to die after attacks by three German Shepherds and a white dog.

Wholesale prices drop in July amid Nixon price freeze
