Funeral Rites For Artificial Heart Patient De Rudder

Marcel De Rudder 65 a retired coal miner lived five days with a partial artificial heart after a ruptured left lung. He died after a six hour operation by Dr Michael E De Bakey. He was buried in Georgetown Illinois after funeral at Trinity United Church of Christ.

Two Men Charged With Stealing Wire Near Yorkville

Two men identified as Arthur Day and Clifford Edwards were charged with grand theft after being caught Thursday night stealing telephone wire belonging to Illinois Bell. They are held in Kendall County Jail on $15,000 bonds each. The wire, valued at $225, was found being stored at the location along River Road near Yorkville.

Joe Barkley Transferred to Wayne County

Joe Barkley a soil conservationist for the U S Department of Agriculture in Grundy County since July 1953 is transferred to Wayne County in three weeks. He and his wife and two sons will move to Fairfield and he reports for duty May 23. George Hinman will carry out his duties until a replacement is named.
