Four Grundy County Students Win Academic Scholarships
Four Grundy County students earned state university scholarships based on ACT scores from last November. Anne Louise Barrett of Coal City and Terrance Anne Dolan of Verona won four year tuition exemptions at seven Illinois state universities. William D. Gonnam of Verona and Barbara Ann Bossert of Morris Community High School won University of Illinois agriculture and veteran child scholarships respectively, also based on ACT results. No candidates qualified for home economics or veteran/war related scholarships in the county.

Intermittent Showers Forecast by Weather Bureau
The U S Weather Bureau foresees occasional showers tonight and Wednesday. Temperatures will stay mild with highs near 70 and lows in the 50s. Collins Weather Station recorded 72 for Mondays high and 50 for the nights low. At 9 a m the temperature was 58 and 11 a m saw 70 in the business district.

Heart Patient Dies After Lung Rupture
Marcel De Rudder died at Methodist Hospital five days after receiving a partial artificial heart. Autopsy found a pulmonary rupture caused his death. the operation had initially functioned normally. Dr. Michael DeBakey led the procedure as family prepared to transport his body.
