Grundy County seeks federal state funds for countywide dispatch plan
Region IV ILEC Executive Director Kurt Metzler outlined a grant proposal to fund a Grundy County communications network. The request totals 137 615 with 123 855 federal and 6 880 state funds, county matching 6 880, to create a centralized sheriff run dispatch center linking five departments and the ISPERN system, plus a countywide emergency 911 capability.

Morris police report a 12 year old youth made a false fire alarm about 3 30 p m Wednesday. Police released the youth to parents for further investigation. Authorities say no 502 Lisbon Street exists and no fires were found at nearby addresses. A trap on the fire line traced the call to its source.
