Seven Injured In Three Car Crash Near Sandwich
Seven people were hospitalized after a three car collision one mile east of Sandwich in Kendall County. Police said vehicles were demolished. Neal W. Graston and Elaine Fuller were in the third car. Conditions ranged from satisfactory to fair for four Plano youths. Investigators noted no tickets issued yet.

Printing Bonds For New Library In Morris
Bonds totaling 218000 for the Morris Public Library are being printed by Chapman and Cutler for a negotiated sale to three local lenders. Morris Savings and Loan Association Grundy County National Bank and First National Bank of Morris will buy the bonds at 5 percent. City Attorney Robert Wren said the firms will decide on distribution. Tracy Adcock, finance committee chair, said the lenders accepted the low rate since it funds a community project. Residents of Morris voted February 25 year in favor 1637 to 1148.

Newark Community High School District 18 voters rejected a proposal to add a new gymnasium three classrooms and locker boiler and storage rooms and authorize 450000 in bonds. In precinct one at Newark High School 389 ballots were cast with 262 no and 126 yes and one spoiled ballot. In precinct two at Lisbon Grade School 207 votes produced 101 yes and 104 no with two spoiled ballots.

Sidney C. Carr of Wauponsee Township was re elected to a third term as Grundy County Board of Supervisors chair Monday. No opposing candidates were nominated despite three calls for nominations. The board supported a bill to strip circuit court judges of appointing power to local boards, restoring county home rule. Edison sought a 20 year power agreement. Chairman Carr will study the request. Gotham urged a flag pledge for meetings and donating the county history book to schools.

One Car Crash Kills Morris Driver at 3 AM
A 19 year old Morris man, Thomas L. Davidson, died of head injuries after a one car crash on Lorenzo Road near I 55 in Will County. His two passengers, Kyle Pointer and Dale Ryder, sustained minor injuries. Police cited illegal liquor transport. Davidson faced a separate charge for reckless driving. Funeral services are set for Tuesday at the First United Presbyterian Church in Morris.
