Channahon Cyclist Injured In US 6 Collision
A 12 year old Channahon boy was slightly injured Tuesday when his bicycle was struck by a car at U S 6 and Fryer Street. Dennis Myers of 703 Canal Street was treated and released at St Joseph Hospital Joliet. The driver, Pamela Nickel 25 of 108 Sage Street Channahon was eastbound on U S 6 when the bicycle crossed in front of her car. Myers was taken to hospital by Tri County Ambulance and his bicycle removed by his father. No tickets were issued and no damage estimate was given for the 1972 Plymouth involved.

Four killed in rural Pratt County crash near Decatur
State police report four people died and one seriously injured in a near head on collision on the Hammond Bement road about 20 miles east of Decatur. The victims include Philip Binder Hammond Sr and James Cornwell 21 plus passengers Ronald Howard Atwood and Jeffrey Lust 22 Ham mond. The injured passenger Thomas Scheffer 22 Atwood was hospitalized in Decatur.
