Hitchhiker Killed South of Odell on Route 66
An unidentified 54 year old hitchhiker was killed at 4 45 am today one mile south of Odell on U S 66 after being struck by a truck driven by Franklin Abernathy of Pekin who said he did not see the man along the roadside. The body was taken to Bahrendt Funeral Home in Pontiac while Livingston County coroner Vernon Van Qualen investigates the crash.
