Pneumonia Develops in Longtime Mechanical Heart Patient
Houston AP reported 65 hours after a second human heart transplant at St. Luke's that 47 year old Has kell Karp of Skokie Illinois developed pneumonia. The hospital bulletin said a patch of pneumonia appeared in the right lung and kidney function was low. Doctors remain hopeful he will respond to medical treatment.

Firemen Serve Breakfast Sunday at Morris Station
The Morris Volunteer Fire Department hosts a semi annual pancake breakfast from 6 to 11 a.m. at the fire station. They recently purchased $30,000 of equipment from proceeds of prior breakfasts, including life saving gear radios for all trucks a portable light plant and misc items. A new emergency truck costing near $10,000 is ordered to replace a 1961 panel truck.

Expect Council to Consider Extending Plan Services
City Council may be asked to extend the planning consulting service of Carl Gardner and Associates for at least three months. The move followed a Monday night meeting in City Hall with Morris Planning Commission ZBA and zoning officials. Ara Gaines 62 of Chicago died Monday at Menard Penitentiary on death row for the May 27 1968 murder of state trooper Frank Doris of Clay City. Gaines also known as William H Carter was a railroad car maintenance electrician and was sentenced to die by electric chair March 15 last year. execution stayed pending appeal.

Housing panel revival urged by Grundy County supervisor
