Young for murder in Kendall County case
Mitchell David Young, 28, Aurora, was sentenced by Judge Carl Swanson to 14 to 17 years for the Aug. 29, 1974 stabbing death of Thomas Early Murphy, 25, of Chicago. The murder occurred along Jeter Rd in Little Rock Township. Young was found competent after insanity pleas and had been at a state mental hospital since 1974.
