Local notes report Cap Cox of Reno visiting, trains late, crowds at the local road, and weather turning cold with ice forming at night. Virginia Chronicle cites James Hurley in serious condition while several officials campaign in Virginia City and Carson.
Silver Party presents candidates for county and state offices including State Senator A Livingston and Assemblymen H R Logan M W Smith C E Wylie. Sheriff post appears listed but details are incomplete.
The Silver Party endorses the State Conventions platform and Congress member Francis G Newlands for US Senator. It pledges legislative support, labor rights, fair land purchase interest rates, water storage for irrigation, good roads and taxes, timber limits, economical county administration, and continuation of Silver party governance.
The Board of Capitol Commissioners invites sealed bids for full 3 cords of nut pine wood. Wood to be corded, measured, sawed into 1 1/2 inch lengths, and stored in the Capitol Building basement under supervision. Bids due noon October 2, 1902. opened at 2 p.m. Delivery by October 1, 192.
