Reports from Carson and vicinity note Judge Julian arriving from Reno, Wilkerson the coyote slayer reaching Wadsworth, and Johnny Rogers visiting Willington. A stampede in Black Hornet district Idaho follows rumors of rich free milling gold ore. The Tonopah Mining Co reports 7000 tons of ore processed at $61 per ton.
The Silver Party lists candidates for county and state offices, including State Senator A. Livingston, Assemblymen H. R. Logan and M. W. Smith, Co. E. Wylie, Sheriff candidate, and Constable Eugene Mara.
The Silver Party endorses the State Conventions platform and supports its candidates. It backs Francis G. Newlands for U S Senator, vows legislative support, and urges labor rights and union organization. It opposes reducing state land purchase interest rates, promotes water storage reservoirs, public improvements, and timber regulation to protect watersheds. It pledges economical county administration and praises current Silver party officials.
The Board of Capitol Commissioners invites sealed bids for furnishing 50 cords of nut pine wood cut to 16 inch lengths and piled in the Capitol basement under supervision. Bids due by noon October 2, 1962 and opening at 2 pm the same day. Delivery required by October 15, 1902 with right to reject all bids. Clerk W R Davis.
