Noah Blossom of Genoa died after a long illness at about 75. He served as Douglas County clerk and lived through much of Nevada’s history, leaving a wife and daughter. Also reported Nevada University beat California 3 to 5 at Berkeley, plus mining progress at Chloride Queen where silver chloride ledge was confirmed and stock held locally. Bullfighting and rodeo events planned for the day, with rides by Carson Valley cowboys. Mentone, Cal. notes A. Davis, 93, former local sawmill pioneer, died leaving three daughters.

Man Held on Suspicion in Reno Murder
Leon Phillips a sheep herder employed by Mr. Holcomb of Truckee Meadows was arrested on suspicion of murdering Marguerite Dumont. A long-time companion of the woman, Phillips had a recent quarrel with her and neighbors recall seeing him near the crime scene the night she was killed. he claims he was not in Reno that night.
