Nevada stockmen covertly ship horses for corned beef cans
A Salt Lake Tribune report details J Conway of Meadow Valley Nevada sending 700 head of steers and 170 horses to a major Shirazo packing house. The horses, labeled corn beef, would be canned, a practice some Nevada stockmen have used due to beef shortages.
