COUNT JOTS. with Lux died at his home in San Sunday morning. He was a of Chas. Lux, who died some years ago, the latter were one of the firm of Miller & Lus, cattlemen. The Lus brothers were California pio neers met with another ac cident last week Friday. While driv ing as the corral on the M ier & Lux ranch his hore fell on him and badly bruised his right knee. Asa is now hobbling about with the as sistance of a cane. Water has been struck in the Searchlight mine at depth of oo feet. Electric drills are also now be ing used in exploiting work. About twenty leas have been set on claims at Gold Mountain, near Tonopah, and the owners expect big results as soon as depth is attained. The apple crop in the upper end of Smith valley will be a good one this season.
