Death notice for Ide McCrory 87 of Burlington Iowa formerly Moravia resident. Word of death received Tuesday. Funeral arrangements pending with interment planned later this week.

The Fairview Homecoming was held at the school house on September 4 with a noon basket dinner. Twenty four people attended and spent the afternoon visiting. Prizes went to the oldest attendee John Stefan and next oldest Myrtle Huber, plus the longtime teacher Mary Hanes.
World Mission Society service opened around the altar for prayer led by Mrs Hackett our missionary president. Bob Klampe and Lena Gladfelder led congregational singing. Opal Longely spoke on reading Begats as real people and urged the Alabaster offering for building needs on the Mission Field set for Sept 18. Patty Self read reports and Mrs Whitlatch noted the North Central Zone workshop in Overland Park Kansas in October attended by Mrs Hackett.
John Woodward son of Paul Woodward of Indianola and grandson of Mr and Mrs Frank Woodward of Moravia rose from state to mid states and world level, winning the Olathe Kansas contest and leading his team to sixth in the world. He placed first individually among a strong global field and attends Mid-America Nazarene College in Olathe Kansas earning three scholarships.
The Wesley Chapel United Methodist group met on Sept 8 at Paulette Daniele’s home. Election of officers elected Edrie Phillips president Doris Boblenz vice president Flora Hac secretary Evelyn Daniels treasurer Edith Hist Flower Fund Juanite Dooley Supply. An annual meeting planned for Sept 19 in Oskaloosa and a Des Moines trip on Oct 6. Attendees included Edrie Phillips Helen Price Flora Hiatt Evelyn Daniels Eva Tucker Mae McDonald Josephine Sismibas Marty Mcleedows and Srven Caria Daniels.
The Unionville Baptist Church ladies met Tuesday morning for the first gathering of the year. Nancy Bennett delivered a devotion on Our Contract with God In the light of living a Christian Life. Elaine Hargrave handed out work to take home. They planned items for Baptist Hospital in Bangaldash and held a circle of prayer for nine supported missionary families. A cooperative lunch followed. Attendees included Fern Matter, Pat Matter, Helen Herman, Eva Wright, Jewell, Jennifer Wright, Julia Wright, Margaret Bronson, Annette Hysell, Eleanor Burton, Elaine Hargrave, Nancy Bennett, Timmy Bennett, and Enid Walker.
