Blood sugar rise linked to training in endurance efforts
Harvard researchers studied Boston marathon runners and found those finishing strongly or in good condition showed higher blood sugar immediately after the race. Training with added sugar intake and sustained exertion appeared to keep sugar levels stable, improving endurance and recovery. European studies by Ove Boje noted blood sugar behavior varies with training level and workload, with trained individuals maintaining or increasing sugar during effort. Gladstone highlighted the value of consistent training raising energy, endurance, and blood sugar stability.
