Enrollment Keeps Pace in Moravia Schools Amidst Fluctuations
Enrollment in Moravia schools remains steady with 471 students at last year’s start and 470 this year. An Ecuadorian exchange student will arrive soon, and ex exchange student Luis Aguirres will join for about two months. Elementary counts rise to 212 from 203, while junior high and high school drop to 258 from 266. The senior class at 31 marks a multi year low. Grade by grade, numbers shift, with kindergarten 38, first 300, second 36, third 2, fourth 34, fifth 45, sixth 49, seventh 34, eighth 34, ninth 6, tenth 9, eleventh 4, twelfth 0. Garnet Brain completed a 20 day 6000 mile guided bus tour of the Pacific Northwest and Canadian Rockies. The group visited Black Hills Yellowstone Grand Tetons Glacier National Park crossed into Canada at Banff Lake Louise Vancouver and Victoria. They ferried Puget Sound to Seattle and dined atop the Space Needle. En route home they stopped in Boise Salt Lake City Cheyenne and Lincoln Nebraska. The coin in Nebr was in very good shape. Western Iowa was drier than the tour region.
