Harry McCrory Taken Sudden Death at 62

Harry McCrory 62 died suddenly Tuesday morning from a heart attack in his Moravia area yard. Born September 25, 1890 near Moulton, he married May Brizendine in 1925. Surviving are seven children including Carl in Los Angeles and Richard in Camp Lejeune, 10 grandchildren, his mother Mrs Lloyd McCrory 91, brother Joe Ottumwa, sister Mrs Francis Smith Water town. Body at Turner Funeral Home. funeral plans pending word from Richard in North Carolina.

Four Adult Evening School Meetings Remain

Four adult evening school meetings remain in the current series. The next sessions cover beef management and feeding with speaker Bill Zmolek from Iowa State College on Oct. 29, livestock feeding with C. W. Brown of Western Feeds on Nov. 5, artificial breeding with breeding specialists and inseminator on Nov. 12, and a pot luck supper with a joint meeting on Nov. 19. Meetings start at 7:30 p.m. in the Varogeal Agriculture room of the school building.

Singer to Present Lesson at Adult School

The adult homemaking class was well attended Wednesday evening. Mrs. Mary Tassell presented the final lesson on tailoring. A Singer sewing machine demonstrator will demonstrate fashion stitches at the next meeting, Oct. The lesson for Nov. 5 and 12 will be on aluminum arts.

Rebekahs Plan Chili Supper for November 4

Moravian Rebekah lodge held a regular meeting led by Noble Grand Mrs. Lawrence Roland. Plans were made for a chili supper on November 4 at the hall. Social hour featured coffee and doughnuts served by Mrs. Paul Spencer, Mrs. Raymond Charity, Mrs. Herbert Roblenz, and Mrs. Leo Hoffman.

Norma Schrodt to Wed Johnny Beaton in November

Mr and Mrs Cecil Schrodt announce the upcoming marriage of their daughter Norma Jean to Mr Johnny Beaton son of Mr and Mrs John Beaton II of Waltham Massachusetts. The wedding is planned for Saturday November 1. Miss Schrodt is a Moravia High School graduate class of 1951 and has worked with the FBI in the Department of Justice building in Washington DC.

Farm Bureau to Hold Annual Meeting Nov 3

Appanoose County Farm Bureau will hold its annual meeting Monday evening November 3 at 7 30 at the Centerville Community Center. Don Groves Iowa Farm Bureau treasurer will be the featured speaker. The Bureau Women's Chorus will sing. Officers and resolutions will be voted on. Members urged to attend with family. Refreshments will follow.

Urbana 4-H Club Elects Officers and Reps

The Urbana 4-H club met Monday October 13 with Jack Wilson presiding. Nominees Dom Hawbacker and Jim Archer were named to represent the club in county elections. Officers elected: Bob Sandifer president Dom Hawbacker vice president Jack Wilson treasurer Raymond Vance reporter Dorothy Archer sentinel. Meeting adjourned after pledges then cocoa and doughnuts were served.

Missionary District Institute Held in Chariton Missouri

West Point school program and social Monday evening

A program and social event at West Point school is planned for Monday evening November 3. Pile and sandwiches, coffee and pop will be sold, doors open at 8:00. Everyone is welcome and a door prize will be awarded. Edna Sullivan is the teacher coordinating the event.
