West Point notes recount visits and gatherings over the weekend. Leo and Richard Hoffman helped with wood at the Ben Pickrell home. Donald Jones of Ottumwa was a dinner guest at Rex Hagerman’s. Jay Wilson stayed with Richard Hoffman. Sunday visits included James Simmons in Ottumwa and Lloyd Callen’s residence with the Callens from Sigourney. Richard Hoffman attended the national FFA convention in Kansas City Tuesday and Wednesday.

Local work continues on culverts near the railway south of Center church and at Gilles hill. Judy Gillen visited Diane and Cathy Faber Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. R A Faber called at the Vandepol home Monday evening.
Thursday after noon Wesley W S C S members Elsie Call led devotions with Frances Burton teaching. Christmas box items and church home donations requested for next meeting. Refreshments served by Elsie and Lillie. Wesley M Y F met Tuesday evening with 23 attendees. Madge Lee led the senior lesson. Rev White nack guided the juniors. Doughnuts and kolache provided by Mrs Dooley. Several members and visitors listed report hospital, travel, and local events including the Des Moines trip to see a relative and attendance at various aid and church events.
