Franklin Farmers 4-H club met October 14 at West Point School. President Jerry Brown opened with the 4-H pledge. Officers chosen included James McCord as president and Charles Jennings as vice president. Others elected were Gary Dean Perry secretary treasurer W G O'Hara and reporters Bob Potts and leaders George McCombs Dick Brown.
Attendance at Fairview church included 45 members as Mrs. Johan Foster hosts. Sunday visits featured the Johnson, Miller, Dowd, Gladfelder, Tadlock, Tomlin, Lamont, Foster, Cochran, Gladfelder, Dodd, Scott Talbert, McDanel and Zimmers families. Social calls and dinners occurred at several homes with extended family and friends in attendance.
Mrs Celia McDanel attended a Farm Bureau meeting at Mrs Harrison s Wednesday afternoon and another in Centerville Thursday afternoon. Mr and Mrs Lee Benz spent Tuesday evening with his parents Chas Benz Mr and Mrs Lige Albertson were Sunday dinner guests of Lloyd McDanel Cody Luse helped Ron Woodward pick corn last week Mrs Luse spending part of the time there Ron will be at Cody s this week picking corn Mr and Mrs Lyndon McDanel Mrs and Mrs Kenneth Gladfelder and Judy attended a party at John Broshar s Friday evening. Lyndon s were dinner guests of John ny Marlin s Sunday Bill Long and Lee Benz went to Wall Lake Monday with a load of acorn. Ed Points and family were Sunday dinner guests of the Wm Norton s. Kenneth Bissie Robert Charles Fe Judy Gladfelder were in Ottumwa Saturday morning.
