Moravia News Highlights From Morning Band Rehearsals to Local Oddities
Moravia residents enjoy near daily Moravia school marching band rehearsals while weather allows. A quirky tale from Unionville features Ulsa Mangle and Uncle Jeff Patrick wandering to Lake Wapello after a sale. D C Main from Rockford taunts Moravia locals about roasting ears and spinach. A note from O L Callen of South Bend asks to move his address to 722 E Colfax. A mistaken funeral led to the resurrection joke between Otis Farr and Thomas Linsky. Rural Electrification Administration clashes with five Iowa counties over who pays line interference costs. Government subsidies and tax gaps draw critique of unfair trade practices. Rail drama includes a horse chasing a luna engine near Milwaukee tracks. Union office window damaged by rock thrown by local boys. The incident is linked to a bomb scare in nerves, then curiosity. A birthday cake with button candles caused celebration quirks at home. The younger generation’s “vid man” prompts a table piled with socks and a share of gifts.
