Lois Carleta Tadlock Gadella, infant daughter of Mr and Mrs Lee Tadlock, was born September 21 1920 and died October 1 1926 at home. Funeral services were held at the home on Saturday at 10 AM with Rev C C Hobson officiating. Interment followed in Moravia Cemetery.
Mr and Mrs Lee Tadlock express heartfelt thanks for neighbors and friends support after the death of their infant daughter Lois Carletta. The Twentieth Century Club opened its year with a meeting at the J W Halden home. Frank Selby and wife Frank Selby observed their 30th wedding anniversary with a family dinner last Friday.
Laura Frances Dudley Hinote born August 20 1890 near Unionville died September 27 192d at 36. One son and four daughters survive with husband R C Hinote and her parents and siblings. Burial at Denny cemetery Rev L D Eaton officiating. Lena Josephine Cernich born March 16 1904 Novinger Missouri died September 21 1926 after an operation. Survived by parents four sisters and four brothers with several palls and friends attending St Marys Church funeral Sept 23 1926. Interment at St Marys cemetery west of Albia. Weather outlook reports unsettled showers clearing to potential sunny days with forecasts uncertain.
A large Moravia crowd watched the Moravia High School team lose to Bussey by 9 to 8 in a muddy home opener. Cecil Cullers raced 55 yards for Moravia’s TD, a safety and late Bussey TD sealed the hard fought, weather impacted game. Captain Charles Fix led a determined Moravia squad.
Circus Solly a musical comedy staged by Ingram Productions of Rock Island Ill drew fair crowds despite bad weather. Kenneth Metzger supervised rehearsals while scenery and costumes came from the Ingram company. The cast featured Betty Wood Nadine Winsler Lou Reich Hickory Bender Melvin Goeldner Dave Bishop Red Berry Annie Lorena Alberta and many chorus girls with a finale of Circ us Days. The event doubled as a social highlight and showcased elaborate ballet and musical numbers.
Special meeting invites all Moravia men for a free oyster supper and conference at 7 30 p m Friday in the U B Church basement. The proposed undenominational group aims to unite farmers business and professional men and citizens to promote civic industrial economic educational social moral and religious life with weekly Bible study and diverse community activities.
The Union office prints catalogs for a major dispersion sale of registered Scotch and Stitch Topped Shorthorn cattle to be held Thursday Oct 14 by F. P. Hawk and Son in Moravia. About 60 head plus two herd bulls will be offered, with sheep and horses to follow. breeders from Southern Town expected.
There are several Chautauqua guarantors for 1926 with unpaid assessments. Bills are outstanding and payment is required at once at Maravia State Bank. Miss Hazel Hinote of Denver, Colorado, visited with Mrs. Lester Jones on Thursday.
Class Nine of the M, BE Sunday School will hold their annual Roll Call at the Crystal Theatre next Sunday morning at 11 o'clock. All members are urged to attend. Alma Keemer has been chosen for the Girls Glee Club at Iowa Wesleyan College this year.
