Nine year old survives tractor crash at Moravia farm
Brian Harrington escaped serious harm after a tractor hooked to a pickup started in fifth gear and rode through a ditch, overturning near a hedge post. The front wheel casting broke off and the tractor split near the drive end. He had driven in the hayfield before, but he was not clutching when started. Bruises appeared later. His father credited unseen help or companionship in the risky ride.

Mrs Holman Injured in Fall From Car
Mrs Elbert Holman received cuts and bruises Saturday when she fell from their car onto the highway as they traveled to Pancake day in Centerville. To avoid a stopped truck, Mr Holman swerved and the door on her side opened sending her outward. She was taken to Monroe county hospital for treatment and remained there through Sunday.

Moravia High School girls softball clinched the sectional title at Blakesburg with a 16 3 victory over Moulton. Sara Hersey daughter of Rey and Mrs Thomas Hersey of Moravia has been chosen as a member of the 1969 70 Dakota Wesleyan University Concert Choir Mitchell South Dakota. The choir directed by Floyd Hickman performs at church school and civic functions with a January tour of the Chicago Milwaukee area. Selection is by competitive auditions and Sara a Wesleyan freshman sings soprano in the choir.
