Retirement hobbies keep Kenneth Gladfelder busy
Kenneth Gladfelder, 74, enjoys outdoor sports since retirement in 1976. Fishing remains central despite a hip surgery in 1971 and two back-to-back retirements. He crafts lures at home, favors Lake Rathbun, and recalls a 7 lb 2 oz bass. He also hunts quail, squirrel, and rabbit, shares most catches, and winters walnut meat for cookies. He and his wife moved to town in 1976.

Consumer Economics and Farm Products Awareness
The author argues consumer awareness lags in basic farming and food industry economics. Using a 1000 lb steer example, they trace value from cattle to diverse edible and inedible by products, pharmaceuticals, and by products, highlighting overlooked societal impact and the need for informed evaluation of consumer economics.
