Mohawks sweep doubleheader as Mystic teams fall in Moravia gym

Observations report Coach Forbes Mohawks win both halves of a doubleheader against Mystic teams. Mystic girls lose easily while Mystic boys contest remains close, Moravia boys edging them by two. Elsons Attend AG Teachers Dinner in Centerville

Vocational Agriculture teachers and wives from the Southeast Sub-district met at the Bluebird Cafe in Centerville for a 6:30 dinner on Thursday November 13. Attendees included James McClymonds Corydon M H Elson Moravia Joe Wright Chariton and Walter Hoover Centerville, with guests G Steinslmeyer Bloomfield and Thompson Ames doing practice teaching. Missing were Howard Wilson Albia Glen Foster Seymour and Mrs Wright Chariton. After dinner ladies previewed Christmas items while men toured Centerville High School Ag Department and the G I Training Program. Main topics were the G I Training Program an F F A basketball schedule and spring tournament, plus the November 18 meeting in Chariton after a social at the Hoover home.

Maple Grove PFA Meets for November Session

The Maple Grove Parents Teachers Association held its November meeting at the schoolhouse with 4 present. President Grant Tadlock led the session as the secretary's report was approved. They ordered song books for group singing and planned a Christmas party for December 18. Mrs Gretchen Ashby sponsored the program with assistance from Mrs Bud Walter and Mrs Clair Sellers. Refreshments were prepared by Mrs Grant Tadlock and Mrs Winston DuVall. Games followed the meeting with fruit salad cake and ice cream served.

Farm and Home Labor Saving Show to be set up in Center ville Armory for a one day appearance between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Tuesday Dec 9. Admission free. Rural groups invited. Exhibits cover weed control labor saving in livestock and poultry feeding faster milking methods home making and farmstead planning. 17 large exhibits with models to illustrate each exhibit.
