Evelyn Josephine McDonald and Vivian Hudgens are profiled in Seniorographs with reminiscences, future plans and school activities. The issue covers MHS music news, Future Farmers of America, home room programs, homemaking, A B C club, physical training, debates, and classroom notes across various grades, outlining personalities and upcoming school events.
Second grade studied plains Indians and built a museum box with tepees and figures. Third to sixth grades covered soap history and machinery images, with Thanksgiving decorations and a veteran Armistice Day program. Leadership roles were elected in the upper grades and students noted visiting guests.
Local notes list numerous Sunday visits and guests including Hedge College attendees Mr. and Mrs. O G Davis and Ralph at Harold Davis home, Donald Lockman working for his uncle, and many others visiting relatives and friends around Lone Rock. Activities mention pheasant hunting trips, birthday party for Miss Wilma Van Zante, and travels by the Luse, Lathan, Mangle, and VanDorin families.

Mr. and Mrs. L. B. VanDorin and Louis visited over home to grandpa’s. The club plans a meeting with Mr. and Mrs. Ernest McKay on Wednesday. Several want to attend the sale Thursday. J. T. VanDorin and Rex Tisue for Claude Hawk. Rev Richard Sneed broadcast from Shenandoah Sunday morning. Kenneth Free, Dale, and Mrs. E. G. Sincoz visited in Albia. Wood-sawing by Howard Whisler, Kenneth Free, Loren Thompson, Doyle McDane and Jake Winkelman. The Caster boys help with corn picking. G. R. Darby and family attended a school social at Selection Friday. Zell Wilson’s family visited Eph Wilson Sunday. Curtis Robinson laid the foundation for Roy Darby’s steel corn crib. The project should rise this week. Harry Felton assists his father. Wm Rector of Ottumwa was here Sunday for hunting. G. R. Darby lost an old wheel horse Thursday. Tra Van Dalen and son bought a house here Friday.
