A Tuesday morning fire at Botson's Dat Son's Restaurant started by an oil stove. Firefighters and Mr. Dotson contained the blaze after he carried the stove outside, though he suffered some burns. Damage to the building fixtures and supplies was limited but significant.

A local notice states truck hauling services are available with contact Jones at 2811. Saturday visitors include Mr and Mrs H E Watts in Centerville on business. Ottumwa visitors Mrs Finnschroeder Mrs Una Haller and daughter called at James Van Doyen Sunday. G B Ladies Aid plans Thanksgiving dinner and bazaar in the church basement Watch for notices. Mr and Mrs Frank Reynolds of Chariton visited Alien Mason home Sunday with a birthday dinner for Mrs Mason. guests included Mr Chareneece Williams and Mr Gay Mosier of Albia.
L. Smith of the Smith Piano Co at Albin went to Moravia Thursday and arranged to take over the Atwater Kent Radio agency in the city. The Moravia Telephone Co. had held the agency with Von Tracy as manager. Smith plans to appoint a Moravia man to service all sets sold locally and will demonstrate radios to interested customers.
Large turnout from Moravia and surrounding areas celebrated Jonathan Chase’s birthday at his Russell home on a Saturday evening in October. Guests shared games and refreshments, with well wishes for many future birthdays. A separate Halloween social at the Christian Church drew a sizable crowd with music contests and treats like pumpkin pie doughnuts cocoa and coffee.
A notice details a Moravia Iowa Community Club meeting for men and women over 18 at the echnol gymnasium on Thursday at 7:80 p.m. The draft constitution and by laws, dues of 1.00 per member, and seven committees are proposed to foster civic, educational, religious, and social life while remaining nonsectarian and undenominational.

Readings, prayers, and hymns mark a day of worship, missions, and fellowship with local volunteers in Albia and Albuquerque noted.
Church of Christ reports Sunday School at 10 and Communion at 11. Aid each Wednesday afternoon at the church. Notable October attendance honors go to Mrs Main, Mrs Free, Mrs Wakefield, and Mrs McKern. News of birth and death of an infant daughter to Mr and Mrs Cow Fulur of Osceolu. Girls Kings Heralds held a Halloween party at DeLor hs and Harries Lee Main on October 29 with masked costumes and lively fun.
The American Legion will sponsor an Armistice Day program at Moravian School gymnasium on Thursday November 11 at 2 oclock. Expect a good speaker and a fine program as part of the observance.
The Moravia Co-Operative Marketing Association shipped twenty one car loads of stock to various markets during October, delivering substantial business and bringing a large amount of money into the community.
A Wabash train passed an open switch at Des Moines last Saturday morning injuring none seriously. Moravia residents aboard included Mr. and Mrs. Ben Allem, Miss Emma Garretson, Lee Hiatt, and Dale Smith. All were shaken and called it a close call.
