Moravia Methodist Church schedules a God's Portion Sale for November 16 at 1:00 pm starting from the community building porch. Auctioneer H C Peterson of Albia leads the sale with lunch served by Class No 8. bake goods bazaar items farm produce and donated foods will be sold plus a barber quartet contest with cash prizes.

Moravia death of Mary A Main at 89 in 1950
Mary A Main aged 89 died October 16 1950 at the home of her daughter in Oskaloosa after living near Moravia most of her life. She married Noble J Main in 1882 and had six children, thirteen grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren. Funeral services were held October 19 1950 at the Moravia United Brethren church with Rev Talbot officiating. burial followed in Moravia cemetery. Relatives from several towns attended.

The groom attended Unionville Buffalo Center schools and graduated 1949 from Buffalo Center high school. He works for Wood Construction in Cloquet Minnesota where they will reside. A capacity crowd watched the Hilltop skating rink masquerade with over 100 skaters on the floor Tuesday evening. Carolyn Hawk won first prize a pair of shoe skates while Alex Kauffman of Albia earned second prize a skate carrying case for his Indian chief costume. Cars lined the rink as spectators looked on.
