Robert Caldwell seeks treasurer, James E Swan and Lewis McFall seek supervisor seats, Alva Ratliff for recorder seeks re election, Dan Fenton for state representative, O N Sundeen and G B Lindsey for county attorney and supervisor respectively, with primary June 1930 through June 1932 deadlines.
Roscoe C. Wales declares he will run as a Democratic candidate for sheriff of Appanoose County, subject to the will of Democratic voters at the June primary.
Green Bay man George Z Goffard describes two years of stomach trouble and nervousness ending with relief after using Konjola. He notes improved digestion, restored appetite, disappearing facial twitching, and regained strength. The ad claims Konjola works in six to eight weeks and is sold in Moravia Iowa at Smith Drug Store and by local druggists.
Mr and Mrs Theo Miller and son spent Sunday evening at the J F Chambers home. Elsie Tucker and daughter returned from Centerville after visiting since Wednesday. Families and neighbors shared meals and outings including a birthday dinner for Mrs O A Hiatt on April 26 at Moravia.
Henry Sytame and family visited Herman Sytama. Ed Jobson and family called on Charlie Johnson in Moravia. Harley Smith and family met at Grant Lincoln’s home. Mrs Zell Wilson and LeRoy visited Eph Wilson. Dorin Wales and Center ville family visited E Cox. Evening visitors included Herald Davis and Moravia family. Willie VanDorin home hosted Oscar VanDorin and family, Jimmie VanDorin and family, and Cy Jones and wife.
Mr and Mrs Grant Sincox visited the Henry Sytsme home Sunday evening. Jacob Caster is staying several weeks at the E Caster home. Mr and Mrs Fred Gorden near Udell visited the parental Weatherly home Sunday. C C Miller and Mary Emma Alden called at the Strunk home Thursday. Mrs Charley Coffin called at the James Wood home Monday afternoon. The Waleses took their son Billy to Centerville for tonsil and adenoid removal. Miss Faith Haines visited her aunt Mia James Wood Saturday. Claude Paris, Rolly Morrison and Mel Adams helped Ray Coltrain saw wood Wednesday. Ray Coltrain owned wood for James Wood Thursday afternoon. G F Gibbs and son Ivan of West Grove called on Wilbur Miller Wednesday evening. D L Strunk and children called at Loren Alden Sunday afternoon. The Rays Coltrain and children spent Thursday night in Morning. Misses Mary and Margaret Miller shopped in Centerville Saturday. Miss Sylvia Hart called on Mrs Ocell Tadlock Thursday afternoon. A E Morrison of Unionville helped W N Miller early in the week. Ray Coltrain called at the Morrison home Monday afternoon. Miss Inez Miller spent the weekend with home folks and attended the B Y P U Rally at Unionville Saturday.
The sick in the area show improvement and many families visited each other on Sunday. A. J. Argo returned home last week improved while several households assisted storm relief efforts near Melrose.
Dutch DuVall and family visited Bill Wilson's home on Sunday. Mrs Zell Wilson and LaRoa spent Thursday afternoon at FE F Wilson's. Vivien Wilson attended high school Wednesday and visited with duanus Smith, Mrs Bill Wilson, and con Billie. James Wilson called at Dutch DuVall's Monday. Edna Dyphon works at D W Hayes home near Sigourney. G E Luse family visited Lloyd Luse's Centerville home Sunday. Dutch DuVall and family spent Sunday evening at John Jonhongs. Cheree Dyphon spent Monday afternoon with the DuVall girls.
