Fred Tillmont suffered a severe injury to the upper right arm when an emery wheel shattered while he sharpened an axe at his shop. The debris embedded in muscle required hospital surgery at Able Hospital, and he is believed to be recovering satisfactorily.

Mrs. C. L. Alden died at her home southeast of Moravia on May 3. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Unionville Methodist church. She was born January 12, 1883 in Furnace County Nebraska and retired as a millinery designer after teaching school. Survived by husband Charles Loren Alden, six children Carroll, Claude, Mary Emma, Russell, Carl, and Will, along with 21 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
