Community Sunday visits and family gatherings
Numerous social calls and visits occurred across Ottumwa and nearby towns. Families including the Gardners, Woodwards, Calhouns, Browns, Huttons, and Hines shared meals, evenings, and afternoons with relatives and friends. Several residents traveled to Kansas City and Clarion for work and clinics, with Joyce Roberts wedding rehearsals noted in Ottumwa.
