Moravia community weighs property tax appraisal option
The Moravia community thanks readers for favorable remarks but urges continued progress. County eyes fairer property assessments and contemplates hiring a professional appraisal firm costing 60 000 to 80 000. Critics warn outside valuations may misread local conditions and hinder development. Public publication of assessments could aid equalization and empower farm and town property comparisons.

Fury Fencer fence building unit to be demonstrated
A United States Steel unit named the Fury Fencer, a fence building machine, will be demonstrated on Tuesday March 20 at 1 20 p m on the Moravian Farm Service property. Wayne Maley of U S Steel will conduct and explain the operation to farmers agents and officials. The device drives posts dispenses wire and stretches it to tension in a single pass, potentially halving erection time and allowing use with standard tractors. It erects woven or bathed wire fencing and can be used for highway right of way fencing and industrial applications.
