Dead cotton broker Martin resurfaces after sixteen years
Memphis, Jon Martin, a cotton broker whose hat and coat were found on the Thames during World War I amid theories of suicide or robbery, is found alive after sixteen years. A member of a aristocratic family, he now reportedly lives as a millionaire in Mexico. His return affects a chancery partition suit over the Martin estate. Kin and attorney say no indictments or debts remain, while prior forged bills and felonious charges are dismissed as not true bills. Insurance claims on his death were previously refused.
