Arthur Johnson was transported from Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield to the Bill DeTarr home near Albia for care. He had been hospitalized over four weeks following a stroke. Mrs. Johnson stayed in Bloomfield to be near him. The transfer was by Turner ambulance with driver Carl Black.

A fire in a box car of ripe tomatoes sparked attention of Moravia fire department Saturday afternoon. An eastbound Milwaukee freight pulled in with one car on fire inside. A loose charcoal burner inside the car ignited the end. the blaze was soon extinguished and the freight continued after a brief delay.

C D Ensley marked his 75th birthday on February 26 at the home of his son in law and daughter Mr and Mrs Joe W Downs in Helena Montana. He credits his health to abstaining from liquor and tobacco and enjoys seeing old friends in the Moravia Union. He was part of G T Harn s Moravia Methodist Sunday School class started in 1894 which later became Class 9. he and his wife held life memberships and attended until moving to Montana in 1916.

Harold D. Tisue receives army discharge and returns home
Cpl. Harold Dean Tisue, stationed at Dugway Proving Ground Utah, arrived Thursday to join his wife and son Lonnie at the Overturf home. After a brief visit with his mother Carrie Tisue and the Overturf family, the couple departed for Waterloo where his former job at John Deere awaits. He has served two years in the army.
