At Mrs. J OG More on South Main street, twelve friends witnessed Maxine Tisae transform into Mrs. Leo C. Easter as each guest read a scroll announcing the December 31 1987 marriage date. The evening featured Monopoly and a yellow white color scheme with delicate refreshments and gift bundles for attendees.

Marie Hansen to Speak at Moravia Church Missionary Services

The Moravia Church of Christ invites area churches to two events with Marie Hansen born in Mokanshan China and now a Drake University junior. William McKern Dies In Florida

William H. McKern 80 of Lakeland Florida died Tuesday night February 22 at the home of his stepson Doyle Mardis in Orlando Florida. He was a former Moravia resident and father of Mrs. William Burns and Guy McKern of Moravia. Surviving are three children three grandchildren eight great grandchildren and four stepchildren. Funeral services and burial were in Lakeland Florida.

Moulton Moravia Play Festival Thursday Night at Moravia Gym

The Moulton and Moravia high schools present two one act plays in the Moravia school gym Thursday at 7 30. Moulton's His First Date features Henry Tippet Sixteen and a comic family ensemble while Moravia's Country Complex centers on Doris Bradley and friends from the city. Neil Produce Station To Open Here Saturday

The Union notes J. H. Neil Produce company opens Moravia buying station next Saturday. Souvenirs will be given to fall produce patrons. Manager is H. D. Cooper, formerly of Albia plant. Station located in the Kargo building on the north side of the square with a new front and redecorated interior.

Ottumwa Subdues Moravia in Sectional Semi Final

Ottumwa high school basketball defeated Moravia Greyhounds 29 to 10 in the sectional semi final. Moravia led 10 to 6 at halftime but faded after the intermission on a larger floor and unfamiliar surroundings. The loss ends Moravia’s basketball season as players anticipate spring baseball practice with Coach Crocker.

Gold Star Mother Dowd Dies After Long Illness

Mrs. A C Dowd a Gold Star Mother and Moravia resident died at her home Tuesday morning after a lingering illness. Born May 19 1871 she married A C Dowd in 1886 and lived in Moravia for 19 years. She is survived by her husband five daughters a son a sister and a half brother. funeral Thursday March 3 at 2 30 p m at the Moravia Methodist Church with interment in Moravia cemetery.

Gerald Morgan assumed the duties as assistant postmaster in the Moravia office on Tuesday morning, replacing Burdette Ward who resigned to resume farming. Morgan is praised by patrons for capable service. E. R. Easter now runs Morgan service station as Ward returns to the Ward farm east of town.

Roe Adams lifelong Moravia resident died Sunday morning at his home after a lengthy illness. Born in the area on August 11, 1869, he lived in Moravia for about 20 years and worked as a farmer. He married Luvada Lockman in 1892 and leaves wife, five children, 21 grandchildren, and other relatives. Services conducted at the Christian church in Moravia February 28, 2:00 PM, Rev. W. G. Lugle officiating. interment at Sailes.

Mrs Main Hosts Farm Bureau Ladies Meeting
