Chet Broshar Delegates to State Convention

At the County Republican Convention in Centerville last Saturday Chester Broshar of Moravia was named one of seventeen delegates to the state convention to be held in Des Moines on March 5. The meeting mainly endorsed a proposed state primary road bond issue with pledges to support it at the special session and in the November general election.

The Reich Lumber Co. of Moravia was sold last Saturday to Turner and Son. The deal includes lumber stock buildings and real estate and ends a 45 year family business once known as Reich & Maiken. No future plans are announced beyond continuing current operations with larger volume to reduce costs and improve service.

Centerville report notes two cars stolen near the Majestic Theatre in one night. A Ford Coupe owned by Glen Shanahan was found abandoned in City Park, while a Ford roadster owned by Russell Bouhek of Moravia, license B-2937, remains missing. Total winter car borrowings reach about 26.

United Brethren Church Services and Upcoming Events

John Jackson Dudley dies after long illness in Moravia Iowa

John Jackson Dudley son of Mr and Mrs William Dudley born Davis county Iowa July 24 1873 died at his Moravia home February 24 1928 aged 54 years 7 months after a long illness He married Carrie Stocker in 1896 leaving seven children Goldia Mabel Orville Russell Wonetta Lee Otis five grandchildren eight brothers and one sister Marie Link many relatives Funeral services were held at the U B Church Moravia Sunday at 2 pm led by Rev W P Donahoe Rev W Thompson and Rev Evans Interment in Moravia cemetery Card of Thanks from Mrs John Dudley and family for neighbors and friends support during illness and death

The M. E. Church invites worshipers to a Friday chicken pie dinner and a Sunday morning children’s snake story.
