Moravia Union announces subscription prices for Appanoose and Monroe Counties at five dollars a year and six dollars for elsewhere in the United States, with publication as the official county paper issued each Thursday.
The region escaped the week’s severe storms but faced severe soil erosion from heavy rains. Reported totals include 3.2 inches on Thursday, 2.7 inches Sunday night, plus prior 3.5 and 4.2 inch events. Plowed fields carried topsoil away, waterways and Red Rock Lake turned muddy, threatening late season planting.
Moravia plans a community history book tied to the July 3 4 5 celebration. A long effort led by Mamie Blumenstock Mildred Bishop and Booster Club ladies updates Moravia Union records with old photos and church and school history. Price is 2.50 with half to local historical committees and printing costs. Distribution expected in about one week at the Moravia Union office and other local sites.

Moravian City Council met in a special session April 1978 to confer with the engineer on sewer inflow. Mayor Chelsvig called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM with councilors Burkland Mihalovich Turner present. Harris and Wilson absent. The engineer was authorized to proceed with plans to correct inflow issues and the meeting adjourned.
The city council met in a special session to open bids for street work and drainage at Old Hotel Building. Amendments to CVRSA were discussed, with Mayor appointing Elmer Gidel as layor representative. Various committees approved payrolls, vendors, and donations while adjournment followed.
The Apponoots County Board of Supervisors met in regular session June 7 1976 at 9 00 A M with Kermitt Strickler chairman I vie N Anderson and Arthur M Streepy as members Absent none Minutes of the May 20 1976 session were read A motion was made and approved The board reviewed expenditures including salaries and maintenance agreements for town employees and offices and nightwatchman provisions and other listed costs
