Burial honors for accident victims near Albia
Funeral services were held in Albia and burial at Moravia Hillcrest cemetery for Karl Yates, 65, and Helen Yates, 54, who died in a car train collision northeast of Albia on Saturday. Also buried was their son Earnest LeRoy, electrocuted seven years ago in Des Moines. The Yates family includes five sons and five daughters.

New Buildings Planned for Appanoose Fairgrounds
The old CCC girls 4-H buildings at Appanoose County Fair were sold at auction. They will be torn down and moved by July 1. A new building will be erected by the fair board in early July, with volunteer workers needed mid July to install tables shelves and create divisions in the new structures.

Diana Gail Burton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Burton of la, married Ste Burger, son of Mrs. Leona Burger of Moravia, at Grace Methodist Church in Moravia on Sunday May 28. The ceremony featured 140 guests, white gladioli and mint green carnations, organ music, and a duet of hymns. The couple will reside in New Windsor, Maryland, as the groom prepares for Brethren Service work.

Rev Deedrick Celebrates 30 Years in Ministry
Rev L B Deedrick, Tawa conference evangelist, marked his thirtieth year in the ministry on Sunday May 28. He preached from the same pulpit as his first sermon in 1931 near Center Community four miles southeast of Russell. A basket dinner honored him and his family, with a cake inscribed 30th anniversary. In 30 years he delivered 4 976 messages and saw 2 448 decisions guided by the Holy Spirit after 16 years as pastor and 14 years as evangelist. He was reappointed conference evangelist at the Cedar Falls conference.
