A guest of ISU at Monday evening dinner meeting promoted selling electric ranges and dryers for the coming year. Jackie Elgin Pancake Day queen highlighted a young audience under 25. ISU urged dealers to push electrical appliance sales with good installations and service. ISA and dealers plan an advertising program with incentives this spring.

Appanoose County Board of Supervisors approved social welfare budgets and depository resolutions, named a 1970 chairman, authorized transfer of funds to the Teachers Institute Fund, rejected fuel bids and called for new bids, and set up crime commission planning funding. Tax sales were finalized with purchasers led by Richard Zemo.
On December 20 1969 the Appanoose County Board of Supervisors met in special session to fix salaries for 1970 under Senate File No 614. County officials including Auditor Treasurer Recorder Clerk of District Court Attorney and Sheriff were set at specified annual salaries with deputy pay scaled at 85 percent for first deputies 80 percent for principal deputies and 70 percent for second deputies.
A Franklin 4-H club meeting at Mrs. Glennie Dicks home on December 20, 1969 covered pledges and financial reports. New members Pamela and Lora Gladfelder joined. A skating party was set for January 21. Carol Christy named 1970 reporter. Joyce Christy noted.
