Congratulates Centerville Daily Lowegian staff for a 60 page Progress Anniversary edition dated January 10. The issue preserves pioneer tales from Appanoose county with stories ads and many pictures printed for the first time. The staff is commended for material and the paper’s fine appearance.
Archie Herron and Ancel Chidester were business callers at the Eric Johnson home Monday. Lee Johnson and son of Albia trucked straw for A. T. Mack from the G. R. Darby farm Wednesday. Willie Van Dorin and brother Jimmie baled straw for G. R. Darby Tuesday and Wednesday. Roy Darby was in Ottumwa Friday. Alfred Pabat and wife of Albia and Frank Whitlock and wife of Des Moines were rabbit hunting the valley on Sunday. Frank Thompson of near Muntersville was in the valley Monday looking after his cattle on pasture here. Mrs. Emanuel Pasant was quite sick Friday and improving. G. R. Darby and son Roy were business callers in Albia Monday. Donald Darby and sister Dorothea, with Evelyn Hiatt of near Main Station and B. F. Whitehead of Iconium, attended the teachers get-together in Albia Friday night. same group was in Centerville Saturday afternoon. G. R. Darby, Ledra Smith, Earl Boardman and niece attended the B. F. Fisher funeral in Milton Friday afternoon. Alec Johnson was in Albia Saturday. The sudden death of Ben Fisher was noted.
A man died after a forenoon hog butchering and afternoon wood sawing near his daughter’s home north of town. Medical aid arrived too late. Moravia high school greatly thanks the Walesa family for presenting a complete set of American and English literature to the library. The volumes include poems, short stories, essays, and dramas by noted authors, enhancing the school's collection and study resources.

The Van Gundy party holds meetings at the Unionville Baptist Church assisted by Rev. R. C. Rowe of the Unionville Male Church and Rev. Smith of the Miller Baptist Church.
