Mr and Mrs Burdette Ward and family called Saturday evening at the Bert Drake home. Numerous neighbors and relatives visited Sunday including the Harpers, Taylors, Lockmans, Coltrains, Proctors and Conners. Attendees at the Farm Bureau kickoff in Centerville and other social calls are listed among local residents.
Mrs H B Spring reports on Udell residents with dinners visits and local travel. Joe Moore hauled livestock to Peoria while Darlene Stevens remained under a doctor’s care. Teachers changes at Udell school noted as McCullough leaves for Texan and Exline replaces her. P T A meeting featured group singing and a hot lunch panel. locals attended the Des Moines barn dance and a revival in Unionville. W E Spring returned from Illinois after New Year’s visit.
New Hope PTA met Wednesday. Genavié Donovan Wesley and Carol Pettibone planned an afternoon meeting on the 24th with Virginia Pettibone and Ivan Hersh's family. A fatal auto crash near Mt Rye involved Vern Hersh, badly burned. funeral set for Monday, community extends sympathy. Verne known in the neighborhood for visits at the Harsh home.

Roy Moffatt family hosted weekend guests Mrs Joe Lucas Jr and son Roy Byron Cater. Mrs Roy Moffatt and children Linda and Francis visited Lester Housley in Moravia. Byron Cater and Roy Moffatt called on Lloyd Ammons. Bernard Kitt er man and daughter Mary Kay were supper guests at Francia Kossman. Olive Moffatt and son Roy dined with Joe Lucas Jr. Richard and Jerry Exwall of Ottumwa stayed Sunday night with Coy Swift. Mary Kay spent Wednesday evening with Tom Scieszinski. Mrs Hugh McFatridge was called to Oklahoma by her brother Lee Bickford's death.
