Ward called on Gomer Stocker Sunday. Elmer Henderson is staying with Otis Ballenger to help. The Ballenger baby is quite ill.

Leonard Perry and neighbors visited Mrs. W N Haver while Myrtle Suan and Flo MeCord called on the ill Mrs. Haver. Milo Foster joined a Sunday dinner and many locals visited, moved, or traveled. Leonard Perry and Mrs. Perry went to LaRose Ill for a funeral, George Martin’s service held Wednesday. Jess Smith was called to Clarton last Thursday by his son Lester’s illness. Lester underwent an appendicitis operation at Clarion hospital that afternoon and is recovering as well as could be expected. Carlyle Long and Don Hayes were business callers in Albia Saturday afternoon. Gerald Long works in Albia helping Cecil Robinson haul coal. Duane Parcel was on the sick list the first of the week. Leo Smith and family moved to Albia Monday after visiting the Jess Smith home. Laghent employment at the packing Mrs. Wm Dicka and daughter Grace at Cecil Parcel home Tuesday. "Harp" Chedister day.
Douglas Salem and Rev Fred Cowles of Unionville spent a forewarned night at the Garl Phillips home as a shower plan formed despite poor roads. Seventeen attended. gifts were given. Rev Cowles preached his farewell sermon at Salem Sunday night before transferring to Udell for half time services. Many friends extend best wishes to their new field. Mrs Boyd Beste visited relatives near Extine. Sunday visitors at the Dennie Fenton home included Charlotte Wilson and Rev and Mrs Fred Cowles. The Young Peoples class held a flags party at teacher Mrs Leo Walker's home with officer elections and refreshments. Mrs Otha Fenton and children visited Harold Spring. Will Batterson of Minnesota is visiting Alva Criddlebaugh’s family due to Balak Criddlebaugh’s serious illness. May Criddlebaugh is hospitalized in Centerville with appendicitis and pneumonia. Margaret Spring visited Arlene Fenton and family. various local visits and exchanges occurred. Henry Glasgow and family have moved to Udell.
