The Moravia Board of Education ran a Tuesday vaccination clinic at the school led by Dr. C T Slavin with nurse Miss O Leary. A total of 177 people were vaccinated including 14 staff, 49 graded students, 80 high school students, 21 rural pupils, and 11 town adults. one pupil refused vaccination and was excluded.
Officers of the Moravia Rebekah Lodge will be installed at the regular meeting next Monday night. Mrs. Louemma Palmer, Noble Grand, urges all Rebekahs to attend. After installation there will be a social time and refreshments of fresh oysters served.

J E Dicks has sold a 64 acre farm north and west of Tocinum to Ferrell Frame. He and Mrs Dicks will move to Ibonium. They plan a closing sale on Tuesday the 11th and advertise details in another notice.
Moravia Chapter C. E. and Antiquity Lodge A F and A M held a joint installation monday evening with a large turnout. Masonic officers were inducted first under H K Smith with D E Bishop as Worshipful Master and J D Minnes as secretary, followed by an Eastern Star ceremony praised as outstanding. Several performers entertained while new officers, including Mabel Smith as Worthy Matron, were installed. The event closed with a Past Masters Jewel presentation to the outgoing Worshipful Master.
Kea Rea, Appanoose county's film actress, will appear on Centerville Federation of Women's Clubs drama department program at the Central Ward building this Wednesday evening. Announcement by Mrs. W C Main, president, notes Moravia residents will follow her public appearance, as she is known in filmdom as Mrs. Les Clark. Several Moravia Federation members plan to attend. program starts at 7:80.
Local residents celebrate the Wm Gardner Hatchery expansion and modernization south of Moravia. The Gardners began with crude incubators in 1926 and 1928 and have steadily built a hardy, profitable operation focused on quality chicks and good service for poultrymen and nearby farmers. The new capacity aims to supply high grade baby chicks and custom hatching with a strong record of production and reliability for local customers. Supt. and Mrs. Lloyd Ransom of Unionville visited Moravia for New Year’s Day events, with refreshments served by the committee and remarks from Gardner supporters Pauline Laws Bette Hiau Garyivid Mein and Kate Kingery.
Moravia girls overwhelmed Blakesburg 48 12 as guards stifled the visitors and forwards pounded the basket. In the nightcap Moravia boys clawed by Blakesburg 31 17 after a sluggish start and a late rally, with Moravia outscoring by a wide margin in the third quarter.
Lathrop of Moravia, Brandens-Lathrop JH, has a position in the general offices of the New York Central lines in the freight rate department. He served with the company in Cleveland for about 18 or 19 years and was transferred to Detroit last June. Friends here extend congratulations and best wishes.
Mo ravia Methodist Sunday School Class Nine elected at the Watch Night party last Friday evening. Officers include president F W Blumenstock vice president J L Dodd secretary Mrs Stella Carter treasurer J P Coffin teacher H E Glick assistant teacher G T Harn. Mrs Carter just completed 30 years as secretary. Cooperative supper and dominoes followed.
Moravia high school basketball teams host Cincinnati high school rivals in Southern Town Nine conference play. Cincinnati teams seek strong recognition this year as Moravia and Cincinnati matchups have drawn strong crowds. Rural eighth graders admitted free with teacher credentials. Thursday games set as last home date until January 27 when Ottumwa visits.
The Church of Christ ladies hosted a successful New Years goose dinner drawing visitors from Centerville Albia Ottumwa Moulton Unionville Blakesburg Iconium and other towns. About 200 guests were served though some were unable due to limited room and supplies.
About 60 people attended a Legion benefit party at the Legion Home on Tuesday evening. In addition to pitch, there were cribbage and rock tables. Attendees enjoyed quints and oyster soup served by Messrs. Hint and Hetnueond.

Parents of 5th and 6th grade pupils are requested to be present at the school building next Tuesday and Wednesday for health examinations conducted by County Nurse Miss O Leary. The school will notify parents of the probable times. about 12 children will be examined each half day.
