Wife of Former Salem Church Pastor Dies

Mrs. Louisa L. Myer, 72, of 2810 Jefferson Street, died yesterday morning at home. She was wife of Rev. M. B. Myer of Tampa, who led the ren y United Societies about 52 years ago. Survived by her husband, four sons, a daughter, and ten grandchildren.

Christmas Program At TIconium Church

The Iconium M E Sunday School reported 59 attendees on Sunday December 28. A joint installation of Masons and Eastern Star was planned at the Masonic Hall Friday. The program featured children before classes and Christmas treats after. Ray McCloud visited in Albis Monday morning.

Moravia High School boys and girls basketball squads travel to Cincinnati Friday for Southern Iowa Nine conference games. The Moravia boys aim for a tenth straight win over Cincinnati while the girls seek to rebound after a conference loss to Myantic. Coaches report hard work this week to shake vacation kinks and expect a strong fan turnout.

Winthrop Brooke Dies At Winona Kansas

Word has been received of the death of Winthrop Brooke on November 26 at Winona Kansas at age 46. He was county attorney at his passing and remembered for helping establish the first United Brethren church here during Rev. F. E. Brooke’s tenure. He was a Drake University and Leander-Clark College graduate and is survived by his mother his wife and a 89 year old son.

Former Moravia Couple Die in West Last Week

Mrs. John Abegglen of Albin learned of the deaths of her brother-in-law and sister Mr and Mrs James Tuttle of Havre Montana. The Tuttles who moved from Moravia 18 years ago died within a week of each other, Mrs Tuttle from pneumonia on December 16 and James five days later after an operation. They were about 70. Survived by son Carl and a grandson. Mrs Tuttle was Ida Ensley of Moravia.

Eula Nadine Hauk daughter of John and Ediny Hauk was born July 80 1914 in Appanováse county Iowa and died December 27 1934 at St. Josephs hospital Centerville Iowa at age 20 years 4 months 27 days. She moved with her parents to Oklahoma as a child then Clayton New Mexico before settling in Moravia. She leaves her mother and stepfather Lee Johnson three sisters Lucile Louise and Medora one brother Gerald and many relatives. Four Generations Attend Dinner at Funkhouser Family

Four generations of Funkhouser descendants gathered for Christmas dinner at the Funkhouser home. Attendees included A W Funkhouser and wife of Atlanta Missouri, C N Main and family of Albyn Missouri, G P Main of Kansas City, and relatives from Illinois, Nebraska, Wyoming, and Chicago. Photos were taken as the clan enjoyed a noon meal and the first time in seven years all the children were together.
